    Tasks of the Department

    • Implement the applicable policy of faculty and staff housing, and provide the optimal comfort and stay in line with the policies, regulations and the system starting from unit occupation until unit evacuation.
    • Prepare and equip the residential units of the Department (Permanent-Hospitality) in the appropriate manner.
    • Cooperate and follow-up with the Human Resources Department on sending names of new residents and their data.
    • Receive and accommodate new faculty members and staff.
    • Open a special register for each residential unit containing all documents and data.
    • Distribute permanent housing units to university employees based on the applicable rules and policies.
    • Receive and follow-up on residents’ inquiries and complaints and solve them, or refer them to the Housing Committee.
    • Follow-up on and coordinate with the Government Housing Department on the allocation of housing units, furniture and housing allowance.
    • Supervise and use the guest housing units as optimal as possible.
    • Take back and inspect housing units from transferred and leaving residents, and issue the respective release.
    • Secure the University's needs for housing and residential units in coordination with the Government-Housing Department.
    • Issue certificates of “To Whom It May Concern” for residents of Qatar University.
    • Cooperate with the Transportation Section to provide transportation for the new comers from the airport to the allotted housing unit.
    • Process the data entry for residents to facilitate the process of following-up, registration and evacuation.
    • Oversee maintenance and operation services in the guest- house in cooperation with the Operations and Facilities Department and property owners.
    • Supervise and follow- up on the implementation of daily cleaning of all guest- house buildings.
    • Maintain the security aspects of guest- house in coordination with the University Section of Health, Safety and Security.
    • Laisse with the concerned authorities to secure the guest- house supplies, equipment and tools.
    • Prepare the Department's annual budget
    • Assign a resident supervisor to respond to the needs of the guest- house residents.​
