The Qatar University Teaching and Learning Award is to celebrate and recognize individuals who have achieved excellence as teachers at the Qatar University. By recognizing such individuals, the University demonstrates its commitment to teaching as a scholarly endeavor, emphasizes the importance of outstanding teaching, and provides incentives for faculty members to pursue activities that enhance their abilities as teachers. The Teaching Award is granted to a faculty member who has a sustained record of high standards teaching based on evidence of continued outstanding contributions to the academic development of students. Alternatively, an award may be granted to a faculty member who enhances students’ learning by developing innovative techniques that use a variety of tools including project-based teaching, inquiry-based teaching, blended teaching, and similar, as well as, modern technology, online resources, audio-visuals, virtual and real experiments or other courseware tools.
The award will be based on evidence of teaching effectiveness and contributions to advancement of QU’s educational programs as implied by the teaching mission of Qatar University.
