    Academic Planning Timeline

    The Academic Planning process is designed to be a continuous and iterative process. The outcome of the process is an Academic Plan that identifies the major changes in existing programs and the new programs and initiatives planned by the university in the next five years. Changes in existing programs may consist of one of the following actions:

    1. Maintain/Strengthen the program;
    2. Initiate;
    3. Expand;
    4. Restructure;
    5. Reactivate;
    6. Deactivate
    7. Downsize.

    For more information about the processes associated to the recommendations above, please visit the Process of Academic Planning web page.

    The colleges have to follow the APQA timeline in order to meet the deadlines to present their proposals at the BOR meetings. Click here for the Fall 2022 timeline.

    The Academic Plan is to be revised and adjusted every two years to ensure its continuous alignment with recent developments in relevant fields of study and with changes in the external environment including changes in the university and the country's needs and demand. While no substantial revisions to the plan are expected within two years, revising the plan after two years will provide better flexibility and alignment with the changing environment. In addition, some changes may be identified during the development of the detailed full proposals for either the initiation of new academic programs or initiatives or the restructuring of existing programs or other curriculum enhancement initiatives.
