Engaging Nations through Sports
Qatar University (QU) Annual Research Forum and Exhibition is the meeting point for academics, researchers and students, from the University’s eleven colleges, seventeen research centers and institutes; including partners and stakeholders, to see, contribute, and discuss QU’s research output and activities.
It offers QU the opportunity to demonstrate how it has been addressing the community’s challenges through research anchored on a vibrant partnership with industry and various other stakeholders, including institutions and research centers. Through this, QU aims to achieve research-driven learning, discovery and entrepreneurship. The event also provides leverage for QU faculty and students to be able to access how to make maximum use of opportunities offered by the respective partners. It will also highlight the important and award winning research being conducted at QU that promotes QU vision and supports the research priorities of Qatar and the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
This year’s high profile event will evolve around “Research, Innovation & Sustainability: Engaging Nations through Sports”. Indeed, 2022 is an exceptional year of inspiration in Qatar, hosting the FIFA World Cup, whilst the world is still witnessing the Covid-19 pandemic repercussions. This year’s forum will combine the advances in research and innovation despite the current health conditions during Covid and post-Covid, stressing as well on the sustainability issues related to the post-World Cup period, and working on optimizing the wellness and well-being of the community. Moreover, the role of universities as well as Industry and other governmental entities will be highlighted throughout these topics.

Venue: Qatar University, Research Complex H10, Foyer & Auditorium
The first day includes Opening Remarks from Distinguished Guests, QU President and Vice President for Research & Graduate Studies as well as a Keynote Speech. It will feature the opening of the Exhibition, three Panel Discussions evolving around the theme and the distribution of Awards. It will also result in the publication of the Research Abstracts Proceedings by Qatar University Press.
The second day will take place in the form of several seminars evolving around the theme: “Academia and Industry towards Sustainability” and focusing on different innovative research topics relevant to Academia and Industry, such as Energy Efficiency, Circular Economy, Safety, Security and Sustainability.
It will also feature the visit of university and schools students to the Research Exhibition, which will consist of the Sports Exhibition (sponsors and stakeholders) area and the Main Exhibition area (QU colleges and research centers) in addition to the Research Posters Awards area.
